THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE: THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS (UNALIENABLE RIGHTS)

The US Declaration of Independence (Links to an external site.) states that everyone is endowed with unalienable rights, one of which is “the pursuit of Happiness.” What does this mean? What does this mean to you personally? Do you believe that this right has been and is currently extended to everyone equally?  Why or why not? What, if any, barriers stand between you and your ability to “pursue your happiness”?
