Instructions:
Your patient has not been to the dentist in 7 years and has moderate periodontal disease, moderate calculus (visible on radiographs) and mild to moderate bone loss evident on radiographs. They have medical assistance dental insurance which does not cover any periodontal therapy.
Discuss how you would explain their condition and the treatment necessary to treat it
Discuss the decision making between a prophy and NSPT and how insurance plays a role in the final treatment recommendation
Discuss how you would deal with the concerns of not having insurance coverage for a particular treatment
Journals must typed (standard formatting – ie: double spaced, Calibri or Times New Roman 11 pt font), 1-2 pages and include an introduction, body and conclusion paragraph.
